Stephanie Dawson @death_gurumn Interview

Welcome to our Interview Series!

We, Kristina and Steffanie, understand that every bereaved parent’s grief journey is different. We want to be able to share what others go through to help bereaved parents to know that what they are feeling is “right”. It’s ok to feel the way you do. No one grieves the same way. We can't stress enough about how everyone's "normal" will look unique because child loss grief is 100% unique to you as a bereaved individual.  Our Interview Series will have many different stories that you are bound to relate to!

Our interview for this episode was with Stephanie Dawson, referred to as Steph in the recording. Stephanie is a bereaved mother in Minnesota. She lost a sibling at a young age, became a grief doula, lost her son in January 2020, and now is certified in grief counseling. Hear about her grief journey and the advice she would give to those along their way. She is a nurse, writer, and death doula/coach. Her goal is to educate about and normalize the grief process.

The work that she does is an interesting service by being with people in the saddest and sometimes most terrifying times in the lives of individuals and families. Thank goodness for people like her that can be the hand to hold while passing from this life to the next and bring comfort and hope when it is needed the most.

Thank you, Steph, for sharing your story and encouraging us.

We hope you enjoy this new series and we hope that you find comfort in these stories.
